It did make me think differently of myself, the change in appearance was drastic (I also got glasses about a month later.) I actually loved the change, it helped me feel like I was finally a grownup. I'd agree pat it's not for everyone but for me it was wonderful. I had felt defined by my hair for so long, because that was all people would ever comment about (my hair was thick, naturally curly, and has great color since I never colored it). I didn't feel pretty, I felt like my hair was pretty.
